Welcome to my new website!

My debut album ‘Crossing Borders’ is officially here! I’m delighted to let everyone hear the CD which was a Celtic Connections commission in 2015 written for a nine piece ensemble. It represents my musical journey to date, reflecting on places, people and musical styles that have influenced me and my music. The piece draws on vibrant Scottish, Irish and Cape Breton styles and is written in four sections, each highlighting one of these cultures. It brings together a fusion of traditional and classical styles.

It was recorded in Castlesound Studios, Pencaitland with Stuart Hamilton back in March and mastered in June by Calum Malcolm. I was delighted to work with some fantastic musicians on album including, Megan Henderson, Robbie Mackenzie, Innes Watson, Alice Allen, Stewart Wilson, Ciorstaidh Beaton, Scott Wood, Jim Molyneux and my Mum, Alison. Throughout the summer, Louise Bichan has been working on the artwork for the album and Gus Stirrat has edited videos from the project which you can view in the Media section. There are lots of people that have helped make the project a success particularly the three main funding organisations; Creative Scotland, Friends of Highland Music and the Highland Trust.

You can purchase the album from the shop on the website and it is also available to download on iTunes.

I hope you all enjoy listening to the album!

Graham
